Allegation
The EFCC accused Turaki of corruption and money laundering involving Jigawa State funds and arrested him in July 2007, opening a 32-count case.
Outcome / Status
The prosecution never reached a verdict on the evidence. On 13 October 2022 a Federal High Court in Dutse discharged and acquitted Turaki of the ₦8.3 billion charges for want of diligent prosecution and struck out the case.
Administration's response
A fifteen-year prosecution collapsed without a substantive ruling — an extreme example of the delay that undermined the era's governor cases.
