The promise
A journalist by background, Otedola won the 1991 Lagos governorship for the NRC — an upset in an SDP-leaning state — defeating Dapo Sarumi and Yomi Edu, promising housing, education and services.
Assessment
The term was cut short after about 22 months by the November 1993 dissolution. He is the father of the businessman Femi Otedola, and died in 2014.
