Delta State Executive Council approved construction of the Kwale-Beneku Bridge on 16 Dec 2018, 60 years after oil exploration began in the area, to link Ndokwa East and Ndokwa West. In July 2021 Okowa assured the 360m main span + 20m span bridge would be ready by Feb 2022.
