Allegation
The April 2003 Anambra governorship result was widely alleged to have been arranged by political financier Chris Uba rather than delivered by voters. When Ngige broke with Uba, a plot on 10 July 2003 used a forged resignation letter — accepted briefly by the State Assembly — in an attempt to force him out.
Outcome / Status
No one was convicted over the arranged result or the forced-resignation plot. The dispute was ultimately resolved by the election tribunal and Court of Appeal declaring Peter Obi the true winner of the 2003 election in March 2006.
Administration's response
The federal government and PDP were themselves implicated in the godfather arrangement; accountability came only through the courts, and only for the electoral outcome, not the plot.
