The problem
Ekiti, created in 1996, entered Fayose's term with weak institutions and an unsettled balance between the governor, the Assembly and Abuja.
What was done
The settlement collapsed entirely in 2006 into impeachment and federal emergency rule — the only South-West state placed under an administrator during the Obasanjo years.
