The problem
On assuming office in February 2012, Dickson inherited a state with a high debt profile and bloated recurrent expenditure, including a monthly overhead budget of about ₦1.7 billion and a monthly wage bill of ₦5.7 billion.
What was done
Fiscal reforms cut the overhead budget to ₦657 million and the wage bill to about ₦4 billion a month, contributing to a reported ₦28.9 billion balance in state coffers by March 2013.
