What the case is about
A challenge to Dakingari's re-election in the 26 April 2011 governorship poll went before the Kebbi State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, which found grounds to nullify the result.
Ruling & compliance
The Supreme Court, on 24 February 2012, upheld the tribunal's nullification of Dakingari's 2011 election and ordered a fresh election within 90 days. Dakingari contested and won the rerun on 31 March 2012, and was sworn in again on 2 April 2012.
