The problem
Ajimobi said the outgoing Alao-Akala administration left the state treasury empty, alleging Alao-Akala and his aides had paid themselves severance packages equal to 300% of their annual salaries in violation of a court injunction, leaving no funds even to pay incoming political appointees.
What was done
Ajimobi's administration withheld Alao-Akala's own May 2011 salary in response and prioritised the new minimum wage for civil servants over paying political office-holders in the interim.
