The problem
Kwara straddled the boundary between the Muslim north and the Yoruba south-west, with a mixed population, an agrarian economy and uneven services across its districts.
What was done
The administration pursued agriculture and education, but lost the state to the opposition in 1983 and the term ended under the military.
